A Voter ID card, officially known as the Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC), is issued by the Election Commission of India.

In 2025, the Election Commission of India (ECI) continues to make the process of Voter ID registration, correction, deletion, and other voter services easier through both online and offline platforms.
How to Register for a New Voter ID in 2025
You can apply for a new Voter ID card through both online and offline methods.
Online Registration (via NVSP or Voter Helpline App)
Follow these simple steps:

Visit the official website – https://www.nvsp.in
or download the Voter Helpline App (available for Android & iOS). -
Click on “New Voter Registration (Form 6)”.

Fill in the required details such as name, address, date of birth, and gender.

Upload necessary documents:

Passport-size photo
-
Proof of age (Birth certificate, 10th mark sheet, etc.)

Proof of address (Aadhaar, utility bill, passport, etc.)

Submit the form and note down your reference number for tracking.
Once verified by officials, your name will be added to the voter list, and your Voter ID will be sent to your registered address.

Offline Registration Process
For those preferring offline mode:

Visit your nearest Electoral Registration Office (ERO) or Booth Level Officer (BLO).

Collect Form 6 for new voter registration.

Fill in your details and attach copies of required documents.

Submit the form to the ERO office.
After verification, your Voter ID card will be issued.
Other Voter Services Available in 2025
The Election Commission now offers several voter-related services online for your convenience:
Correction in Voter ID (Form 8)
If there’s a spelling mistake or wrong detail in your Voter ID, you can correct it online through Form 8.
Change of Address
If you’ve moved to another constituency, apply for transposition of entry (Form 8A) to update your address.
Deletion of Name (Form 7)
If a person has shifted permanently or passed away, you can request deletion of their name using Form 7.
Check Voter ID Status
You can track the status of your application using your reference number on the NVSP website or app.
Download Digital Voter ID (e-EPIC)
Voters can now download the e-EPIC (Electronic Voter ID Card) from https://www.nvsp.in. It’s equally valid and can be stored on your smartphone or printed when needed.
